Permissions and access

Connecting an assistant always goes through a Tapify page where you decide what it can read. Nothing is shared until you select Allow access.

Business. Each connection covers exactly one business. To use another business, create a separate connection.

Stations. Pick the stations to share. Station-level data (taps, kegs on taps, sessions and sales) is limited to these stations. Stations added to your business later are not included automatically.

Capabilities. The assistant asks for a set of read capabilities. The Tapify page lists each one; Allow access approves exactly that list and Decline shares nothing.

Capability What the assistant can read Scope
Station overview (always included) Which business, stations and capabilities the connection covers Selected stations
Taps Taps on your stations and their settings Selected stations
Dispensing sessions Individual pours, without customer identities Selected stations

Renewal Keeps the connection working for up to eight hours from sign-in Does not add data

Cards, customers and staff are only shared if the assistant asks for them and you allow it. Personal details (such as names, email addresses and card numbers) are masked according to your role, the same way as in the Tapify dashboard.

  • Read-only. No capability lets an assistant pour, charge, top up, edit, delete or control equipment.
  • Never more than your account. Tapify checks your current role and permissions on every request. If your access in Tapify is reduced, the assistant’s access shrinks with it.
  • Eight hours. Each sign-in keeps the connection working for up to eight hours. After that, sign in again from the assistant. Signing out of Tapify or withdrawing your approval ends access sooner.
  • Changes need a new connection. To share different stations or capabilities, revoke the connection and connect again.

The data the assistant reads is sent to the assistant provider (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude). See data and privacy.
